The Galaxy Free Tips, Bets and Field Preview – 2020

A capacity field featuring a host of exciting sprinters will step out over the 1100m at Rosehill on Saturday to determine the winner of the 2020 edition of The Galaxy.

The wide-open field is made up of three Group 1 winners in Pierata, In Her Time and Kementari, all of which look like winning chances.

We’ve previewed the entire race and our The Galaxy best bets can be found below.

The Galaxy – Winner

No. 2 In Her Time – Bet Now: $13.00

In Her Time should settle just off the speed from barrier 4 and looks massively over the odds at the current quote. The 2018 Galaxy winner has won 5 from 9 first up and will enjoy the light 55kg weight of Brenton Avdulla in the saddle. The seven-year-old has won three times over the distance and twice at Rosehill, so I think she’s being undervalued.

The Galaxy – 2nd

No. 15 Cosmic Force – Bet Now: $6.50

Cosmic Force caught my eye when second in the Listed Fireball Stakes at Randwick a fortnight ago. He’ll need some luck here from the wide draw but certainly has the turn of foot to swoop in late and run a place. Cosmic Force has finished second three times over the 1100 metres and gets the light 50.5kg weight of Glen Boss in the saddle. He is currently the second emergency and still requires a scratching to earn a start in the field.

The Galaxy – 3rd

No. 1 Pierata – Bet Now: $4.50

Pierata has plenty of form around him in this race and has not surprisingly been the early market mover. The five-year-old by Pierro ran second in the Galaxy last year and returns to the races following a win in the Redzel Stakes during the Spring. He’s won 2 from 5 first-up with the only knock being the wide barrier (11) and the top weight (59kg).

The Galaxy – 4th

No. 4 Savatiano – Bet Now: $7.00

James Cummings has dominated this race with four acceptances, but I think Savatiano is the pick after dropping back in distance from the Canterbury Stakes. The Street Cry mare won first-up in the Group 2 Millie Fox Stakes on the same track last month before running second in the Canterbury Stakes behind The Bostonian at Randwick. She’s drawn well, gets a nice drop in the weights and has won twice over the distance.
