Preview:

Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals is finally here as the Milwaukee Bucks and Toronto Raptors aim for a spot in the NBA Finals. Either way, the winner of this series will rewrite history as the Raptors have never won a Conference Final series and this is the Bucks first appearance since 2001. Starting with the Bucks, they are the well-rested team coming into this Game 1 matchup after defeating the Celtics in 5 games. After losing Game 1 of that series, the Bucks comfortably accounted for Boston in the remaining 4 games. Giannis Antetokounmpo has led the way offensively with 27.4 ppg in the Bucks 9 playoff games this season. George Hill has been great off the bench, Khris Middleton is averaging just under 20 ppg and Brook Lopez has been a nice addition on defence (2.1 blocks per game). The Bucks are well favoured to win Game 1 but don’t count out the Raptors. Toronto’s path to this series was a lot tougher as they played a 7 game series against the 76ers. Kawhi Leonard’s game-winning bucket in Game 7 will be replayed for a long time onwards and it was also the first buzzer beater in a Game 7 Playoff matchup. Leonard’s series against the 76ers can be summed up by the fact he’s now top 5 for most points scored in a winning NBA playoff series. Which includes the likes of Jordan, Adul-Jabbar, Chamberlain and Jerry West. So obviously, the Raptors hopes in this series mainly ride with Leonard. But they’ll also need contributions from Siakam, who didn’t put up a great performance in Game 7. Kyle Lowry will also really need to set up here for the Raptors. In the regular season, the Raptors and Bucks played at this venue twice and they recorded a split of the series. With both teams playing on a few days rest, the Wolf is expecting a tight battle dominated by defence and tough shots for either side. As such, the Bucks hold a 5-0 Unders after 3+ days rest and in their last 10 home games against a team with a winning road record, the Under is 7-3. On the road, the Raptors are 6-1-1 against the Under and 5-0 when playing on 2 days rest. Overall, the Under is also 10-3 in their last 13 games at any venue.
