Tristarc Stakes Tips, Odds and Field Preview – 2016

The Tristarc Stakes (Race7) over 1400m for the mares, also looks an interesting proposition with a trio of Sydney horses having a stranglehold on the betting.

Tycoon Tara dominated from start to finish in the Golden Pendant at Rosehill recently and figures to run well again after the Snowden pairing made the decision to head south with her in search of carnival pickings.

Her biggest danger is likely to come from Kris Lees’ Danish Twist, who wasn’t far away first-up behind the useful Takedown in the Premiere Stakes at Randwick a fortnight ago and is a horse we have always held a reasonable opinion of.

The query runner in the race is surely First Seal, who had every opportunity in the Golden Pendant but may nevertheless strip much fitter for that run and is more than capable of matching it with the leading pair based on what we’ve seen from her in the past.

On a busy day of action right around the country, our traders were keen to lay early favourite Eckstein in the Highway Handicap (Race 4) over 1200m at Randwick while Gordon Richards’ talented three-year-old Benz goes up against the older horses for the first time in the Listed Durbridge Stakes (Race 7) over 1200m at Morphettville and it will be interesting to see if he can measure up to WFA level.
