Warwick Farm Tips, Race Previews and Selections – 28/4/2021

Sydney’s metropolitan midweek card will be contested at Warwick Farm and seven races are on the program.

The rail will remain in the true position around the entire circuit and at publish, we’re faced with a track rated in the Good (4) range.

Race 1 – 1:25pm AEDT – Maiden Handicap (1300m)

Sur La Mer returned a nice effort on debut and looks well placed to break her maiden at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

The Nicconi filly had plenty of trials prior to her debut and mustered a nice turn of foot to only just miss at Newcastle.

She’s drawn well under Hugh Bowman and looks to have a future.

Race 2 – 2:00pm AEDT – Bowermans Commercial Furniture Handicap (1100m)

Billiondollarbaby can record another win at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

The I Am Invincible filly has made just one appearance at the races so far, but kicked clear to record an impressive win over the likes of Port Louis at Canterbury.

She’ll only improve for that effort, and I’m confident that her race day experience will also make a difference in the result.

Race 3 – 2:35pm AEDT – Robrick Lodge Handicap (1100m)

Gleneagles will take winning form into he third at Warwick Farm this week and can continue his rise through the grades.

The Capitalist colt was competitive during his short debut campaign and returned at Hawkesbury earlier this month for a comfortable win in maiden company.

This is obviously harder, but he boasts plenty of upside.

Race 4 – 3:10pm AEDT – Darley 2021 Roster Handicap (1000m)

This shapes as one of the more open races on the card and Queensland raider The Move has claims on winning.

The Move has returned two decent efforts to finish fourth in a couple of Saturday races in Brisbane since resuming, and I like that he has been kept up to the mark with a trial since his last effort.

He gets into this race well and is up to winning.

Race 5 – 3:45pm AEDT – Ranvet Handicap (1100m)

Bravado will take good improvement into his second campaign start at Hawkesbury today and can return to winning form.

The Toronado gelding stamped himself as a runner to follow during his debut prep and only just missed in BM72 company at Hawkesbury when resuming.

He is drawn well and will be hard to hold out.

Race 6 – 4:20pm AEDT – XXXX Handicap (1200m)

Willowheart only just missed when resuming and this looks the perfect race for her.

The I Am Invincible mare has been a good horse for the Waller stable in races like this one throughout her career, and she flew home to finish second by a nose at Canterbury when fresh.

There are some good horses engaged in this race, but I think that this mare’s fitness edge will prove the difference.

Race 7 – 4:55pm AEDT – Vinery Stud Handicap (1600m)

Travest might not be offered a better opportunity to win than this.

The Tavistock gelding was excellent during his debut prep, but he hasn’t been able to replicate that form this time, though still being somewhat competitive.

He finished second in a similar race over 1550m at Canterbury last time out and he looks to be at peak fitness for this contest – I’m happy to give him one last chance.
