Warwick Farm Tips, Race Previews and Selections – 30/6/2021

We’re back to Warwick Farm in Sydney’s west for on Wednesday and seven races are on the program.

The rail will be set out three metres around the entire course and at publish, we’re faced with a track rated in the Soft (7) range.

Preview brought to you by Ladbrokes. Learn more about Ladbrokes HERE.

Race 1 – 12:50PM – Vinery Stud Handicap, (1100m)

Only a handful of the twelve confirmed starters in Race 1 at Warwick Farm on Wednesday have previous experience and several debutants are prominent in betting.

I am happy to watch and wait until Race 2.

Race 2 – 1:25PM – Harry Angel @ Darley Handicap, (1100m)

Dragonstone raced greenly on debut but hit the line well to finish third, and I think that he can break his maiden at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

The Mikki Isle gelding showed promise at the trials prior to making his competitive debut, and I think he’ll enjoy plenty of improvement for his first race day experience.

Race 3 – 2:00pm – Benchmark 64 Handicap, (1200m)

This is a step up in grade for most of the twelve confirmed starters and I think that Tastebud can fight out the finish.

Tastebud returned some nice efforts during four trips to the races last time, and returned with a credible performance to fill the minors behind Tamerlane at Gosford last month.

She has been kept fresh, had a trial at Randwick last week and this looks winnable.

Race 4 – 2:35pm – Admire Mars At Arrowfield Handicap, (1600m)

Duchess Adele flew home to finish second here on a rain-affected track last time and looks well placed to go one better.

The Adelaide mare mixed her form a little under David Pfieffer earlier in her prep, but the change in scenery and to Matt Dunn’s set-up looks to have brought her on, and she has finished second in similar races to this one at her last two.

She gets into this well under the conditions and is primed to strike.

Race 5 – 3:10pm – China Horse Club Handicap, (1400m)

This shapes as a very winnable race for Derbari.

Derbari has been a handy horse for the Joe Pride yard throughout his racing career and was competitive at Saturday grade last time.

He has stripped fitter for three starts back this time, including consecutive placings at Canterbury and here at Warwick Farm most recently, and I really can’t find a reason why he won’t be in the finish again this week.

Race 6 – 3:45pm – XXXX Handicap, (1100m)

Seleque hasn’t been seen at the races since April, but she flies fresh, and she can make a winning return at Warwick Farm on Wednesday.

The Deep Field filly won two of four starts during her autumn prep, placing on another occasion, and she is yet to finish worse than second at this point of her preparation.

Tommy Berry can stalk the pace from his wider draw and finish over the top of them.

Race 7 – 4:20pm – Sky Racing Handicap, (1200m)

Fastconi will take plenty of beating dropping back to midweek company at Warwick Farm.

Fastconi has been a strong and consistent performer for Chris Waller this prep, and he was rewarded for his condition with a lovely win over BM72 company at Canterbury two starts back before finishing a credible fourth at Rosehill Gardens last time.

He’s rock-hard fit and I’m confident he can send us home a winner.
