2019 WIMBLEDON MEN’S SINGLES BEST BET
Novak Djokovic – $2.50
Novak Djokovic will open as the No. 1 seed this year, but there’s been a shakeup at the two and three spots with Roger Federer seeded ahead of last year’s Semi-Finalist, Rafael Nadal.
How that affects the later stages of the tournament remains to be seen, but all signs still point towards Djokovic defending his title in a fortnight’s time.
The World No. 1 fell short to Dominic Thiem in the Semi-Final stages of the French Open last month, so right off the bat, you know he’s hungry for revenge.
Digging a little deeper, eight-time Wimbledon champion Roger Federer is always a threat, but now at age 37, his best years on the grass look to be behind him.
That leaves only Rafael Nadal, who will have to fight from the three seed if he hopes to win his third Wimbledon title.
Despite losing to Thiem at Roland Garros, Djokovic still played some strong tennis disposing of Alexander Zverez in straight sets in the Quarter-Finals. This is the most beatable Federer and Nadal have looked going into Wimbledon and considering Djokovic is in the shape of his life, it’s hard to back against the favourite.
2019 WIMBLEDON MEN’S SINGLES BEST VALUE
Rafael Nadal – $6.50
Very difficult to see anyone winning this year’s tournament outside of the big three, but if you fancy backing anyone other than Djokovic, Rafael Nadal is your man.
The Spaniard is now playing with a chip on his shoulder from the third seed and he looks relatively healthy after some early season injury clouds leading up to the French Open.
It’s been nine years since we last saw Nadal win at Wimbledon, and while the grass is far from his favourite surface, he probably stands the best chance at winning the final if Djokovic suffers an upset early.
2019 WIMBLEDON MEN’S SINGLES BEST ROUGHIE
Stefanos Tsitsipas – $17.00
The Greek Freak has only ever made it as far as the fourth round at Wimbledon, although his form of late suggests he might make a deep run this year.
Tsitsipas lost the final of the Madrid Open to Djokovic back in May before losing in the Semi’s to Nadal in Rome a week later.
Tsitsipas has taken a step forward in his game since losing the Semi-Final of the Australian Open, so he might be worth a small wager at longer odds.
