Wimbleton Tennis Tips, Bets and Preview – 2018

Wimbledon will officially begin at the All England Club in London this weekend and we are set for two weeks of world-class tennis.

The world’s premier turf championships are the most highly-anticipated tournament on the tennis calendar and there is plenty of value to be taken in betting, in what has been a particularly open season on the Men’s and Women’s tours respectively.

Roger Federer is arguably the greatest ever men’s tennis player and he will begin his 2018 Wimbledon campaign a $2.75 favourite, from Novak Djokovic ($6.50), Marin Cilic ($8) and Rafael Nadal ($8).

Turf specialist Petra Kvitova is the $5.50 favourite to win the Women’s draw, from the legendary Serena Williams($7) and defending champion Garbine Muguruza ($8).

Below you can find our 2018 Wimbledon Tips, including Australia’s best chances in the Men’s and Women’s draws!

Men’s Draw
Roger Federer ($2.75)

The eight-time Wimbledon Champion has wound back the clock during the last two years and is a deserving occupant of the top line of outright betting.

Federer elected to skip most of the clay court season, including the French Open to focus on his Wimbledon defence and won the Stuttgart Open in the lead-up to this; beating the likes of Mischa Zverev, Milos Raonic and Nick Kyrgios. He has retaken his position atop world standings and will take plenty of beating.

Rafael Nadal ($7)

Nadal won an eleven French Open title last month and is primed for a big performance at the All England Club.

Despite winning the tournament in 2008 and 2010, Wimbledon hasn’t been a particularly happy hunting ground for the Spaniard in recent years and he has exited early in each of his five most-recent appearances.

In what is an open edition of the Wimbledon Men’s draw however, Nadal represents great value and would not look out of place opposition Federer in the final.

Nick Kyrgios ($15)

Is this the tournament that we see Nick Kyrgios keep his cool, string together a few great performances and break through for a maiden gram slam title?

Kyrgios is at home on turf and has produced a number of quality showings in the lead-up to Wimbledon. His win percentage at Wimbledon is 71%; his highest at any grand slam and a repeat of his campaign at the Queens Club earlier this week would put him in great stead.

Women’s Draw
Petra Kvitova ($5.50)

Petra Kvitova is a two-time Wimbledon Champion and will be extremely difficult at the All England Club again in 2018.

The twenty-eight-year-old has found a terrific run of form in the lead-up to the championships and successfully defended her Birmingham Classic title earlier this week. Having fought back from a set down, the win over Magdalena Rybarikova reassured her dominance on turf and another grand slam could be but a fortnight away.

Serena Williams ($7)

Serena Williams is arguably the world’s best-ever tennis player; certainly when her stats and records are taken into consideration and she represents outstanding value to win at Wimbledon 2018.

There has been plenty of outcry around whether or not the new mother should be handed a seeding at Wimbledon, but regardless of the outcome of that argument she is easily the most fearsome player on the women’s tour and will be ready to make a big run through the finals.

Ash Barty ($26)

Australia’s Ash Barty has continued an impressive rise to prominence throughout the last eighteen months and could be in for a big tournament at Wimbledon.

The twenty-two-year-old has played some great tennis at the Eastbourne International this week and at the time of publish, remains alive in the tournament.

This is only her third appearance in the main draw at Wimbledon and represents good value at long odds to potentially claim her first Grand Slam.
