Tom Mitchell is the odds on favourite at $1.62 to win the Brownlow according to Sportsbet.
The Hawthorn star has attracted over five times the amount of money than next best backed player, Dustin Martin, with big bets coming in for him including $20,000 at $1.40, $10,500 at $1.65 and $10,000 at $1.36.
One punter stands to win $81,450 after staking $45,000 on Winx to win Saturday’s George Main Stakes, which she did comfortably, into Tom Mitchell winning the Brownlow at $1.81.
Another is facing a $45,000 payout if Mitchell wins, having placed a bet of $5,000 at odds of $9.00 after round one.
Dustin Martin ($7.00) and Max Gawn ($9.00) are also in single figure odds to collect Charlie, so the online bookmaker isn’t ruling out an upset.
“Last year Dustin Martin was $1.05 to win the Brownlow, so as far as the odds are concerned this one is still far from decided – but that hasn’t stopped punters piling in for Tom Mitchell.
