Gabba heads odds to host AFLW Grand Final

The decision to have the Adele concert at the Gabba was controversial and repercussions continue after the event.

The concert badly damaged the stadium surface, but sportsbet.com.au believes the AFLW grand final will still go ahead there. The Gabba is $1.35 favourite to host the grand final ahead of Carrara $3.00.

Concerts are $4.00 to be banned for the remainder of 2017.

Cricket officials are weighing up options to use a drop-in wicket at the ground. The online bookmaker believes a drop-in wicket is $1.75 to come into play for the Ashes and $2.00 for the pitch to remain. They’re offering $11 for the Gabba not to host an Ashes Test in the 2017-18 series.

“Adele wowed Brisbane with her concert, but unfortunately the famous Gabba surface has suffered. The women’s AFL has been well received and it would be disappointing if they couldn’t play at Brisbane’s traditional home of AFL, but we’re tipping the grand final will go ahead there,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Christian Jantzen.
