Melbourne is the $1.50 favourite to be named the World’s Most Liveable City for the seventh straight year.
Online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au sees Vienna as the biggest threat at $5.00 ahead of Vancouver at $8.00.
A number of other Australian cities are in the mix, but surprisingly, Sydney isn’t one of them ahead of this month’s announcement by the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).
Adelaide is a $13 chance, Perth is $17, Brisbane $21, Hobart $51 and Darwin is the outsider at $101.
“Sydney may well be the world’s most beautiful city, but it’s not the most liveable according to our market. This is some great fodder for Melburnians in their ongoing us v them debate,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Christian Jantzen.
