France are roaring towards another World Cup title according to punters with several large wagers being placed on Les Bleus, reports Sportsbet.
One punter has wagered $50,000 at odds of $1.95 for France to win in 90 mins while another wager of $10,000 has been placed on France winning the title at $1.45.
So far, 60% of the money wagered is backing the French to claim victory.
Croatia are $2.75 to win the competition but one punter stands to collect $34,000 from a $1,000 wager placed when they were $34 outsiders.
“The French are heavily backed by punters but we’ve seen Croatia shock the World throughout the competition so I wouldn’t write them off just yet,’’ said sportsbet.com.au’s Will Byrne.
