Despite Wild Oats XI being an eight-time winner of the Sydney to Hobart, 50% of the money bet with TAB has been on Comanche to take out Line Honours for this year’s race.
Comanche opened at $2.30 but following support from punters, has firmed into $1.90 favouritism while Wild Oats XI has drifted from $2.20 to $3.50.
“Historically TAB customers have been right behind Wild Oats XI, and that has proven extremely profitable for them” said the TAB’s Shaun Anderson, “but the move for Comanche has been a concerted push.”
“There are five Super-maxis in the race this year, and while it is hard to see one of that quintet not winning, Oats X creates plenty of interest with an all-female crew” Anderson said.
