After recording their fourth-straight victory in a 42-12 thrashing of Newcastle at the SCG last Saturday night, the Sydney Roosters are the $3 favourites at TAB to win the 2020 NRL premiership.
The Roosters shortened from $3.50 to $3 and displaced Penrith as title favourites even though the Panthers firmed from $3.50 to $3.25 following their 20-2 triumph over Parramatta at Panthers Stadium last Friday night.
One TAB punter plonked $20,000 at $3.50 on the Roosters to win this season’s premiership before their win against the Knights while another TAB customer placed $19,800 at $3 on the two-time reigning premiers after their win versus Newcastle.
Even though Melbourne defeated North Queensland 36-20 at Sunshine Coast Stadium yesterday, the Storm eased marginally from $4 to $4.25 to win this year’s title due to the heavy support for the Sydney Roosters.
The Eels ($7.50 to $10) drifted after their loss to the Panthers while Canberra also eased from $11 to $13 despite their 37-8 victory over St George Illawarra at WIN Stadium in Wollongong last Saturday afternoon.
