Fifth seed Daniil Medvedev ($5.75) could provide one TAB punter with a potential windfall of $111,500 if the Russian can defeat second seed Rafael Nadal ($1.15) in the 2019 US Open men’s singles final at Flushing Meadows in New York beginning Monday 6am AEST.
Medvedev was $81 at TAB to win this year’s final major tournament when the customer in question placed a $1000 bet at $81 on July 27.
On August 8, the same customer placed $500 at $61 on Medvedev after he had reached the final of the ATP tournament in Washington DC that was taken out by Nick Kyrgios.
Since then, Medvedev contested the final of the ATP Masters event in Montreal won by Nadal before accounting for Novak Djokovic in the semi-finals and David Goffin in the final of the ATP Masters tournament in Cincinnati.
18-time major singles champion Nadal entered the 2019 US Open as the $4 second elect behind Novak Djokovic ($2.10) with one bet of $2000 at $5 placed on August 2, which could result in a $10,000 collect.
Nadal is attempting to win his fourth singles title at Flushing Meadows after triumphs in 2010, 2013 and 2017.
23-time grand slam singles champion Serena Williams is the $1.34 favourite at TAB to win the women’s singles final against Bianca Andreescu ($3.30) commencing tomorrow 6am AEST.
