A TAB customer is supremely confident that Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton will continue his charge towards a seventh drivers’ championship having placed a $70,550 bet at odds of $1.25 at TAB to win tonight’s Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix at Monza.
Hamilton is a five-time winner of the Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix and will be starting from pole position with his team-mate Valtteri Bottas alongside him on the grid.
“The $70,550 wager on Hamilton to win at Monza is easily the biggest size bet placed on any driver to win a Formula 1 race this season,” TAB’s Trent Langskaill said.
“The TAB punter in question will make a profit of $17,637.50 if Hamilton is victorious for the sixth time in eight races this year.”
Due to the enormity of the bet, Hamilton is now $1.22 at TAB to win this evening’s Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix, which starts 11:10pm AEST.
