The West Coast Eagles have made the majority of TAB customers happy following their come-from-behind victory in the AFL Grand Final this afternoon.
Trailing 30-1 early in the first quarter to Collingwood who got down to as low as $1.12, West Coast were as much as $6 in Head-to-Head betting but slowly clawed their way back into the contest.
Kicking the opening score of the match, West Coast didn’t get back in front until just under two minutes from the end.
Some of the most notable bets on the West Coast included $20,000 @ $2.25, $10,000 @ $2.30 and $10,000 @ $2.25 while there were multiple bets of $5,000 at the same price placed prior to tip off.
Despite being the outsider, West Coast actually held slightly more money than the Pies prior to the match with the split being 55%/45%.
“Our customers were smelling an upset all week,” TAB’s Andrew Georgiou said.
“West Coast were the best supported side, in terms of money held, right throughout betting and even when they were down early, money was still coming in for them.
“It was a disastrous result for us but a very good day for plenty of our customers.”
