Now for the game everyone has been looking forward to, the Matildas opening their campaign against Italy.
We all know it’s been a rough build up for the Australian girls with the replacing of the coach and some players struggling to reach full health in the lead up to the tournament.
Thankfully it is a (relatively) soft landing when they take on Italy and you have to like them to deliver on the big stage here.
Sam Kerr is yet to score a World Cup goal but is one of those players that shines when the pressure is greatest.
Because of that, she is certainly worth backing in the goalscorer markets but I’ll keep this one simple and just back an Australian win outright.
