Sydney has firmed into $1.60 to win Saturday’s AFL Grand Final after one sportsbet.com.au punter staked $375,000 on a Swans victory.
The punter backed the Swans at $1.62 and stands to collect a total payout of $607,500 should they win on Saturday.
The Swans’ odds have shortened from $1.62 into $1.60 as a result, with the Western Bulldogs easing from $2.35 to $2.40.
The majority of bets continue to head to Bulldogs, with more than 65% of bets placed on the outsider.
However more than three times the money is backing the Swans, with the biggest bet on the Bulldogs $4,000 at $2.35 compared to the Swan’s largest bet which is currently $375,000.
In Norm Smith betting, more than 1,500 punters have already backed Marcus Bontempelli at $7.00, but Luke Parker ($9.00) is closing with 1,300 punters backing the Brownlow Medal runner-up so far.
“The majority of AFL fans are right behind the Bulldogs which is translating into plenty of $10, $20 and $50 bets, but the big money is all heading Sydney’s way,” said sportsbet.com.au’s Ben Bulmer.
“One Sportsbet punter is supremely confident in the Swans ability to get the job done, staking a mammoth $375,000 which will deliver just over $600,000 should the Sydney-siders take the Premiership Cup home with them.”
