We’re back to the Gold Coast on Friday night for a showdown between the Heat and the Melbourne Stars, in what will be the first match for the latter in BBL 9. We take a look at Friday’s (20/12/2019) BBL Big Bash 2019/2020 match which is between the Brisbane Heat and Melbourne Stars.

Preview:
The Heat are already 0-1 after suffering a defeat as home favourites against the Sydney Thunder on Tuesday, and they will be eager to respond here with a big win. Another loss at this point of the season would be pretty damning, particularly when considering the number of away games on the horizon.
The Melbourne Stars were unlucky not to go all the way in BBL 8, falling by just thirteen runs to crosstown rivals the Renegades. That was their second appearance in a BBL final, and they are now one of just two teams that are yet to win a tournament. They have recruited well again, picking up South African paceman Dale Steyn most notably.
If Tuesday night’s performance was anything to go by, the Heat have a lot to fix and I think that the depth of this Stars team will prove the difference.
