AFTER thrashing Collingwood by 68 points in their semi-final, Geelong has shortened from $8 from $4.25 at TAB to win the 2020 AFL premiership.
The Cats drifted early in betting to defeat the Magpies ($1.72 to $1.77) before a groundswell of support resulted in Geelong being $1.60 favourites at TAB before the first bounce at the Gabba.
Geelong has opened $2.15 outsiders at TAB to account for the Brisbane Lions ($1.70) when they clash at the Gabba next Saturday night for a place in this year’s grand final.
Even though Collingwood started poorly, one TAB punter still thought the Magpies would not suffer a huge loss having placed $50,000 at $2.10 during the first quarter on Collingwood to win or lose by less than 23 points.
