GEELONG’S Patrick Dangerfield continues to receive plenty of support from TAB customers and has firmed in the past week from $2.60 to $2.50 to win the 2019 Brownlow Medal, which is awarded tomorrow night.
Dangerfield, as much as $13 after Round 10, tightened substantially in the last three rounds of the 2019 home-and-away season from $7 entering Round 21 to $2.60 and has shortened again from $2.60 to $2.50 (touched $2.40) during the finals.
The $13 offered on Dangerfield is the highest price for him at any point during the season and the 2016 Brownlow medallist has received almost 20 percent of money at TAB to win the AFL’s highest individual honour this season.
The biggest wager on Dangerfield to take ‘Charlie’ home tomorrow night is a $25,000 bet at $3 plonked on September 2 for a potential $75,000 collect.
TAB favourites have won the last four Brownlow Medals starting with Nat Fyfe in 2015 ($2) followed by Dangerfield ($1.16 in 2016), Dustin Martin ($1.05 in 2017) and Tom Mitchell ($1.45 in 2018).
Carlton’s Patrick Cripps is the second-most popular player at TAB in terms of money placed on the 2019 Brownlow Medal winner with 13 percent followed by the Brisbane Lions’ Lachie Neale (11 percent), Collingwood’s Brodie Grundy (10 percent) and the Western Bulldogs’ Marcus Bontempelli (8 percent).
