Third-placed Collingwood up against the sixth-placed North Melbourne at Victoria Park with the winner taking on the Brisbane Lions
The Magpies have been one of the most consistent and arguably most improved teams of 2021 and worthy finalists.
A 14-point loss to Adelaide last week saw Collingwood miss a Preliminary final spot and they now find themselves in a do-or-die situation, dropping from first to third.
All North Melbourne needed to do last week was win, and they did. Just.
After trailing at three-quarter time, Daisy Bateman put North in front with the Roos showing great composure holding to a one-point lead or the last seven minutes of the last quarter to win.
These two sides did meet back in Round 4 when Collingwood won by 20 points – with North Melbourne failing to kick a goal and scoring a measly 0-8 (8) at Marvel Stadium.
You may also remember that these two teams did meet in last years final series, in which the Kangaroos won a two-point thriller at Ikon Park only to have the season abruptly cancelled due to the pandemic.
Collingwood has been very good for my AFLW tipping this season, and they go into this game the rightful favourites.
