Backing the Crusaders in a Super Rugby Final is not exactly going out on a limb, especially when you consider that under the previous formats, they made 14 Grand Finals, winning 10, including the final three before the COVID pandemic.
Add in the fact they won the inaugural Super Rugby Aotearoa tournament last year which was a simple first past the post season with no Final.
I’m going to assume that their 29-6 win over the Blues in their last game was the correction they needed before this title decider and their April stumble is well and truly behind them.
Add in the fact the Chiefs have not enjoyed their trips to Christchurch in recent years, losing their last five games at Orangetheory Stadium, four of which were by double digit margins.
I’ll back the Crusaders to win comfortably as their big game experience sees them by the gallant Chiefs.
