Formula 1 returns to Italy for the third time on Sunday for the running of the 2020 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
Lewis Hamilton made history last week in Portugal surpassing Michael Schumacher with his 92nd career win, and like usual, the future seven-time world champion is at unbackable odds to add to his tally.
The Autodromo in Imola hasn’t played host to a Grand Prix since 2006, so outside of Hamilton winning, make sure you expect the unexpected this weekend.
With several key markets on offer, we’ve analysed all you need to know in our 2020 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix Preview below.
2020 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix Fastest Lap
Lewis Hamilton at $2.15
There’s no real value on Hamilton to win, but there is plenty on offer for the Brit to set the fastest lap.
Both Mercedes cars clocked the fastest time last week in Portugal, but it was Hamilton who had lengths on his teammate Valtteri Bottas.
Hamilton posted a blazing time of 1:18.750 on his way to breaking Schumacher’s record, and if he starts on poll this weekend, he’s almost a shoo-in to do the same.
Outside of DRS down the straight, overtaking looks nearly impossible on this track with only a handful of tight corners to navigate.
If Hamilton gets out in front after turn one, he should be able to put up some pretty speedy times.
2020 Emilia Romagna Grand Prix Double Top 6 Finish
Racing Point at $3.25
Bit of a hit and hope here, but there is a chance both Lance Stroll and Sergio Perez finish inside the Top 10 on Sunday.
Perez did enormously well to finish seventh last week in Portugal after starting 11th on the grid, while Stroll endured a tough race in his return from a positive COVID-19 test.
That said, Stroll managed to finish third at Monza last month, while Perez finished fifth in his home Grand Prix in Tuscany.
Italy has been kind to Racing Point, so there’s a slight chance the pair both finish towards the top this weekend.
