Geelong Cats vs North Melbourne Kangaroos Preview
The Cats have one of the easiest remaining schedules, beginning this week with a return home to face wooden spoon favourites North Melbourne.
A massive 66-point line has been set in favour of Geelong, a margin they came close to covering when they won by 60 against the Roos back in Round 6.
Chris Scott’s side shouldn’t be short on confidence after knocking off Richmond in a thriller last Saturday night, but there will be some shuffling down back following Tom Stewart’s dangerous bump on Dion Prestia.
The Roos played some good footy early against the Crows last week, but they still failed to score more than 60 points for the sixth game in a row.
In terms of recent history, the Cats have owned North’s number with nine straight wins dating back to 2016, and you only have to take one look at the stats to know how much more dominant Geelong has been in comparison.
The Cats currently rank fourth in points per-game and fifth in disposals, two categories North ranks bottom of the pack in.
That said, this is still a big line for Geelong to cover, especially with Patrick Dangerfield still missing.
Considering North’s troubles scoring points, the Under might be the safer play.
