Geelong Cats vs Richmond Tigers Preview
The Tigers found their way back into the win column last week with a blowout victory over Brisbane, but they were also dealt a crushing blow with Dusty Martin suffering a season-ending kidney injury.
The loss has taken some of the shine off what would normally be a blockbuster game and also left Geelong as the short-priced favourites heading in.
Chris Scott’s side has been coasting over the last month with three wins on the trot over Essendon, Carlton and Fremantle, while they’ll also hold fond memories of the Tigers after recording a huge 63-point win when they met earlier in May.
The Tiges’ definitely have enough talent left on the park to keep this competitive, but it’s fair to say Dusty’s absence will be felt enormously when it comes to creating scoring chances and also linking up play through the midfield.
As for Geelong, the Cats have seemingly hit their stride with Dangerfield fit and Tom Hawkins making a late run for the Coleman.
Danger was on the sidelines when these two sides last met, and the Cats still managed to dominate in all the major statistical categories.
A win for Geelong could see them into the top two, and with the attack firing on all cylinders, the Cats are very tough to fade.
