This shapes as nothing more than an exhibition game, but it’s still an intriguing one from a betting perspective.
The Packers were the first team in the NFL to secure home-field advantage through the playoffs last week, meaning they could potentially choose to rest their starters and keep them fresh for the divisional round.
Instead, head coach Matt LaFleur has already stated that he plans on starting his top stars rather than risk a rusty playoff performance at Lambeau in three weeks’ time.
The chances of Aaron Rodgers playing a full game with a bad toe seem very low, but if he and the rest of the offence play the first half, there’s probably a good chance the Packers take a lead into the locker room.
On the other side, Detroit mightn’t be overly keen to win this game with the chance of picking first overall in next year’s Draft still up for grabs.
Whatever happens, I’m taking a stab on the Packers leading at half-time, and the Lions putting up points against some of Green Bay’s backups in the second half.
