Hawthorn Hawks vs West Coast Eagles Preview
The Hawks have a chance to make it back-to-back wins for the first time since Round 2 on Sunday against West Coast.
Hawthorn made short work of the Crows rather early last week at Marvel, largely thanks to a huge five-goal bag from Mitch Lewis.
The Hawks’ ball movement inside 50 was a promising sign of things to come, while they also kept turnovers to a minimum in what was arguably one of their best performances of the season.
West Coast, meanwhile, suffered a blowout defeat at home to the Blues, a game that was basically over before it even began.
The Eagles failed to register a single point in the opening term as Carlton leapt out to a cruisy five-goal lead. That, plus the fact West Coast has been one of the easiest teams to score against all year, suggests this could be another comfortable win for Hawthorn.
Historically, West Coast has won four of its last five over the Hawks, but the fact this game is being played at the MCG certainly works in Hawthorn’s favour.
If Sam Mitchell’s side can pick up where they left off last week and continue to play aggressive footy, they’ll be hard to beat.
