It’s easy to forget that the Hurricanes have been Super Rugby’s second best side for most of the season, considering they have been overshadowed in their conference by the Crusaders.
Remarkably though, they actually won more games than their Kiwi counterparts but lost out on bonus points.
They have won eight of their last nine and now host a Bulls side whose road form is both encouraging and concerning.
Having just finished a successful tour two weeks with a win and two draws from their four games, they have shown they can perform.
The concerning part is the fact they have to do another long haul flight a week after flying back to South Africa which has to have some sort of impact on the team.
At this time of year, in inter-conference matches, you have to back the home side to win and cover, especially when they have been as successful as the Hurricanes.
