Suggested Bets
- 5 Units straight out #2 Alligator Blood
- Boxed Trifecta of the selections below
Magic Millions Guineas – Winner
No. 2 Alligator Blood
Like many, I have been an enormous fan of Alligator Blood since I saw him step out for the first time and I have found it impossible to look past him in Magic Millions 3YO Guineas betting, even at the short quote ($1.80 at publish). Simply put, he is the best horse in the field and if he brings his A-game, he just wins. He’s suffered only one career defeat so far, that being by a bee’s you-know-what in the Caulfield Guineas, and he has so far won both the Listed Gold Edition and the Group 3 Vo Rogue this time in. He can go straight to the lead and will be tough to run down.
Magic Millions Guineas – 2ND
No. 7 King Of Hastings
King Of Hastings has enjoyed a meteoric rise to prominence in his own right, and he’s ready for another bold showing in the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas. The three-year-old son of Ilovethiscity resumed from a brief spell to finish fifth in the Magic Millions Clockwise race at Ballarat and was last seen beating a classy field with ease down the Flemington straight in December. I like that he’s had a trial in the lead-up to this race and he has drawn an absolute peach (barrier 7).
Magic Millions Guineas – 3RD
No. 5 Exhilarates
Exhilarates clearly needed the run when she only managed fifth in the Wyong Magic Millions Stakes, but there’s little doubt that she’ll take enormous improvement from that effort and I think she’ll run a bolter in the Magic Millions 3YO Guineas. The blueblood filly has obviously been a strong and largely consistent performer throughout her entire racing career and won the 2YO Classic here most notably, last year. She’s another horse whose chances have increased for a good barrier (8) and with even luck, she can fight out the finish.
Magic Millions Guineas – 4TH
No. 4 Diamond Thunder
He should be saved slightly by the fact that every emergency has drawn inside, but Diamond Thunder was the big loser at Tuesday’s Magic Millions barrier draw after receiving the 20 marble. Regardless, the Dawn Approach gelding’s ability speaks for itself and he has recorded a career total of five wins and a placing from only eight starts. He beat several of these rivals at Wyong when resuming from a spell and continued to tune-up with a credible run for fourth in the Vo Rogue Plate last time out. Mark Newnham’s horses are flying, and this bloke can return the stable some more prize money.
