Melbourne Demons vs Hawthorn Hawks Preview
Melbourne heads into Round 18 of the home and away season on top of the AFL ladder and their run home should assure them of a top two finish should they continue the form they are currently in.
It hasn’t all been smooth sailing for the red and the blue with losses to Collingwood and GWS bringing out plenty of Demon deniers in recent weeks.
But the fact of the matter is that they are a game clear on top with a healthy percentage and have a home final, plus the very valuable double chance, all but sewn up.
Hawthorn have shown fight throughout the season but that was not evident when they were resoundingly beaten by Fremantle to the tune of 62 points on the weekend.
The Hawks may be looking to the future at this stage in the season and while this is a tough challenge I think they can keep the score line reasonably close with plenty to prove to the coach in waiting.
