Preview:
The Melbourne Stars played a brilliant game to blindside the Hobart Hurricanes in the first BBL semi-final. An excellent bowling performance from Daniel Worrall helped the Stars limit the Hurricanes to just a par total. Handscomb, Maxwell, and Gotch then played a good hand to help the Melbourne Stars chase down the total with ease.
The Melbourne Renegades had a much more exciting passage to the BBL Final. They were at the receiving end of some excellent batting from the Sydney Sixers and had to chase down a big total. A shake top-order could not make the most of the few starts that it got and it was Dan Christian that smashed 31 off 14 balls to win the game for his side.
This will be the third time that the two sides are going to meet each other this season. The Melbourne Stars won their previous two matches and seem to be peaking at just the right time.
