Preview:
Long the Big Bash serial underperformers, the Melbourne Renegades overcame their poor history to win a maiden Big Bash title last season and there is no reason that they won’t be a leading contender once again.
There is probably no side in the competition that is better balanced and they do have a fair amount of depth with both bat and ball. The signing of the in-form Shaun Marsh could prove crucial and he offers a huge amount of support to captain Aaron Finch.
Sydney Thunder lack a bowling leader and if their batting doesn’t fire it is tough to see them winning many games. I don’t expect the Thunder to make the finals, but it wouldn’t shock to see them pull off a few upsets along the way.
