After ending the Sydney Roosters’ chances of a third-straight premiership, Canberra has shortened from $12 to $5.50 at TAB to win the 2020 NRL premiership.
The Raiders were $2.90 hopes at kick-off to defeat the Roosters before stunning the two-time reigning premiers with the first 16 points and eventually holding on for a 22-18 semi-final triumph at the SCG.
Despite upsetting the Roosters, Canberra has opened $2.45 outsiders at TAB to defeat Melbourne ($1.55) in their preliminary final at Suncorp Stadium next Friday night.
One TAB punter was breathing a sigh of relief after plonking $50,000 at $1.11 pre-game on the Sydney Roosters to either win or lose by 10 points or less, which looked in bother early in the first half.
Another TAB customer was not as fortunate having placed $16,500 at $1.42 on the Roosters to account for the Raiders before the semi-final commenced.
