The NZ Breakers currently sit fourth. Depending on how United’s Thursday night assignment goes, the Breakers could head into this game knowing a win will guarantee them a semi-final berth. It would cap an astonishing turnaround for a team that won just two of its first 10 games. We take a look at Friday’s (14/2/2020) NBL 2020 Round 20 match which is between the New Zealand Breakers and South East Melbourne Phoenix.

Preview:
The Breakers have won 10 of their last 13, including a clutch 91-87 victory in Brisbane last Friday. MVP contender Scotty Hopson top-scored with 31 points.
The 9-17 SE Melbourne Phoenix are playing for pride in their final road trip of their debut season. It’s a quality they haven’t been showing enough of lately, losing their last six straight – though a 99-96 home loss to the Kings last Sunday represented an improved effort.
The Phoenix won their maiden clash with the Breakers, a 103-78 blowout at home in November. But the Breakers have responded with victories at home (90-84) and away (97-92) since then.
SE Melbourne have been terrible away, going 3-10 – with their only road win since November coming against battling Illawarra. The Breakers have won their last three in Auckland for an 8-5 home record and all signs point to a comprehensive result in their favour.
