Preview:
The Aussies have firmed into favouritism after securing a Semi-Finals berth against England earlier in the week. Australia will hold fond memories of their final win in the 2015 World Cup, but they’ll also be hungry to put their average tour of New Zealand in 2017 behind them.
Backing David Warner to make 50 runs continues to prove profitable, while Aaron Finch is also worth including as he’s averaged 67 runs in ten matches against the Kiwis.
For New Zealand, Kane Williamson struggled earlier in the week against Pakistan, but he’s typically played his best cricket against the Aussies. The captain is averaging a touch over 120 runs against Australia in the eight matches he’s played.
Head-to-head, you can’t go past Australia at Lord’s following their thrilling win over England. Australia’s fast bowlers excelled, particularly Mitchell Starc, who took 4/43. Starc has taken 19 wickets with the white ball against New Zealand and if he can find the same kind of length that we saw on Tuesday, he should be a real chance at Top Wicket Taker honours.
