There’s plenty of optimism about the Waratahs and their fortunes ahead of their opening Super Rugby match as the favourites for the Australian Conference get set to try and defend that title.
They take on their fellow semi finalists from 2018 in the Hurricanes who finished the 2018 season with seven more points and two more wins than the Sydney-siders.
A few new and returning faces will fill out the Waratahs squad with ever-reliable Adam Ashley-Cooper and Karmichael Hunt both set to feature in this clash.
Against a side with such strong attacking prowess as the Hurricanes, the Waratahs know they need to be defensively stout from the get-go or risk getting blown out.
Last season, the Tahs won both games as home underdogs and went 4-2 against the line last season so if you feel brave, take them outright but taking a close game offers plenty of value as well.
