Despite an injury to Richmond’s Alex Rance and Collingwood suffering an opening round loss, TAB punters can’t split the two teams in premiership betting as they are both $6.50 equal favourites before their Round 2 clash on Thursday night at the MCG.
Melbourne were stunned by a youthful Port Adelaide on Saturday which has seen the Demons drift from $1.20 to $1.33 to make the top 8 regardless of being one of the premiership contenders ($9).
Carlton’s Patrick Cripps is favourite for the Brownlow Medal firming from $9 to $6 after 32 disposals and 6 tackles in a 33-point loss to the Tigers on Thursday night.
Before the opening round, Essendon were very popular with TAB customers holding half the early money to make the top 4 at $3.25 but they have blown out to $6 after suffering a 72-point loss to GWS.
The Giants have tightened as a result from $21 to $9 to win the 2019 AFL Grand Final.
Other notable market movers from the round were;
Greater Western Sydney’s Jeremy Cameron firmed from $17 to $10 to win the Coleman Medal
The Bulldogs’ Marcus Bontempelli is now $23 to win the Brownlow Medal after a $2,000 bet at $26
