Perth suffered it’s first loss of the season last weekend in a blowout defeat against the Taipans at home. It proved to the entire competition that the Wildcats are indeed human, but like all good teams do, Perth bounced-back two days later with yet another win over Melbourne United.
The Phoenix are the feel good story of the 2019 season so far as the competition newbies continue to find new ways to win. John Roberson leads the league in scoring, but that still hasn’t been enough to sway the bookies in this week’s market.
Since these two teams have never faced off before, it’s difficult to know what to expect. Fortunately, the bookies have also set a generous line for this game, which the Phoenix have had no trouble covering with a perfect 2-0 record as the underdog.
