Port Adelaide Power vs GWS Giants Preview
Port still has a pulse in the top-eight race, but they need to keep it beating this week with a win over a feisty Giants side.
The Power fought back gallantly last week to fall just eight points shy of Freo, a performance they can certainly build on after kicking five goals in the final term.
As for the Giants, it’s more a case of trying to end the season on a high note.
GWS picked up its fifth win of the season last week at home over Hawthorn, in large part thanks to Callum Brown’s four-goal bag.
The Giants seem to be responding well to replacement head coach Lachlan Keefe, but the Power have held their number in recent times winning their last two meetings by double digits.
A trip to Adelaide is tough for any club, especially with the Power likely to regain Zak Butters, Scott Lycett, and Steven Motlop from injury.
Side by side, there really isn’t much separating the two sides, but the Power do have a distinct advantage defensively.
Surprisingly, Port has been the fifth-toughest team to score against this year, which should be the deciding factor against a Giants team that has failed to score more than 80 points over their last two games.
