A strong move for Mackintosh could see the three-year-old depose Howard Be Thy Name as Derby favourite.
Howard Be Thy Name has eased from $4.00 out to $4.40 with online bookmaker sportsbet.com.au.
Mackintosh, chasing his fourth straight win, has been well backed and is firm second pick at $4.60 while Eschiele ($8.50) also has plenty of admirers.
In the J.J. Atkins the Kiwi gelding Sacred Elixir ($4.20 into $4.00 favourite) is commanding most of the support. Candika has firmed from $9.00 into $8.00 and there is not a lot of love for Souchez ($4.60).
