The Queensland Reds are offered an excellent opportunity to strengthen their position at the top of the table when they host ‘new boys’ the Western Force on Friday night.
The $2 available for the Reds to beat the Rebels last weekend looked a terrific bet, and while Brad Thorn’s men were plagued by errors early, they fought back into the contest and looked primed to strike.
But then bang – extra time, draw.
The one small win out of that result is that punters who backed the Reds to cover the line as the small outsiders were still rewarded.
What a return it was for the Western Force!

The men from the west stepped out on a Super Rugby field for the first time since 2017 and had a shaky Waratahs outfit on the ropes; leading at half time but ultimately, unable to go with their opponents for the full eighty.
No one could possibly knock the fight and heart they showed, and I am more than confident they’ll improve for the effort.
The Reds deserve favouritism and will probably win, but I am more than happy to back to Force to cover a 15.5-point line as the outsiders.
