A punter collected more than $788,000 by winning Saturday’s Moonee Valley Quaddie.

Plenty of punters made an early exit when $26 chance Merriest won the first leg. Many of those that survived were halfway home when favourite Voodoo Lad ($2.70) saluted in the second leg.

The knock-out punch came in the third leg when the $31 bolter Awesome Rock won the Dato Tan Chin Nam Stakes.

There was no KO for the online bookmaker’s client and it was a case of bring on the last leg, where he had two live runners.

The Sportsbet punter did not have to sweat much as one of his two hopes, the $5.50 second favourite Killarney Kid, scored well turning his $400 wager into $788,171.17.

“There was no field job in any leg, with the punter selecting Merriest one out and only Awesome Rock and The Cleaner in the Dato. He is either a genius or got incredibly lucky using a blindfold and a pin,’’ said’s Ben Bulmer.
