An intriguing and potentially crucial clash awaits the Reds and Rebels at Suncorp Stadium on Saturday night.
Offered the perfect opportunity to lump the pressure on the Brumbies after that team suffered a shock loss on Friday night, the Reds did not fire a shot against the Waratahs and have instead slid to fourth in overall standings.
What was particularly worrying of that performance was that they trailed 38-0 at halftime (having started match favourites), and probably only scored in the second half because their opponent had taken the foot off the accelerator.
The Rebels meanwhile enter this fixture off the back of their best performance and win of the season.
The previously undefeated Brumbies went into the game as clear favourites, but the Rebels were excellent from the outset and ultimately outlasted and outscored the competition leaders.
Regardless, Brad Thorn won’t let his side produce a lacklustre performance two weeks in a row, and I’m confident that the Reds will bounce back with a win.
