Often referred to as the ‘Haitian Sensation’ Magny enters this contest with an impressive 23-7 career record.
He’s been around the Welterweight circuit for a while, fighting some of the top competition on offer.
He has been in decent form of late, already recording two wins in 2020.
His wins have been heavily geared towards decision, with just 7 knockouts and 3 submissions thus far.
The former champion of the division, Lawler enters this contest at 28-14-1.
He earned the Welterweight title in 2014 and defended it 3 times before a 2016 loss to Tyron Woodley.
He hasn’t been the same fighter since then, losing 3 of his last 4 fights.
Known primarily for his elite power, Lawler has 20 knockouts to his name thus far.
This is a tough fight to call at current odds, but I’m leaning towards Magny here.
I think he’s technically the better fighter, has a speed edge around the octagon, and a better ground game.
Lawler’s best hope is an early KO, but his power isn’t what it once was and Magny also has a strong chin.
I’d lean Magny by Decision to squeeze out a bit of extra value.
