United are enjoying a leisurely week-long break – and they needed every minute to contemplate how to break out of their run of four losses from their last five games. Their 14-point loss in Adelaide in Round 15 was followed by a woeful 90-68 defeat in Auckland last weekend. United are clinging to fourth spot but head a four-team logjam of sides on 11 wins.
Melbourne have won 13 of their last 16 against Sydney. United prevailed in the teams’ first clash this season – 107-104 at home in Round 5 – but the Kings have won the two subsequent heavyweight duels, 111-101 in Sydney and 104-81 in Melbourne.
The Kings should get up here. And with each of their 10 wins at home coming by five points or more, the line is small enough to take on.
