After failing to secure the inaugural edition of the NBL Cup, Melbourne United will be eager to bounce-back on Friday night when they travel to Sydney to face their bitter rivals.
Dean Vickerman’s side made short work of the Kings when these two sides met three weeks ago, but it’s safe to say a lot has changed since then.
Uncharacteristically, United has struggled to score their usual high numbers of points, which has resulted in Melbourne dropping three straight to the Bullets, Phoenix and Hawks leading in.
To make matters worse, Casper Ware will be out to punish his former side, something he had no trouble doing last year averaging 28.8 points-per-game against United.
The Kings, meanwhile, own a pair of impressive wins over the Phoenix and Bullets so far this month, while they’ve also held Melbourne’s number recently winning three of their last five meetings.
With home court advantage, the Kings look good value straight-up.
