Despite a slow start, Canberra has comfortably accounted for Cronulla in their elimination final at GIO Stadium and shortened from $13 to $11 to win the 2020 NRL premiership.
The Raiders trailed 14-6 late in the first half before scoring 26 unanswered points in an eventual 32-20 win, which has secured a semi-final encounter against the Sydney Roosters in a rematch of last year’s grand finalists.
The Sydney Roosters have opened $1.62 favourites at TAB with Canberra the $2.30 outsiders.
One TAB punter may have experienced some anxious moments in the first half but in the end had no qualms after plonking $100,000 at $1.13 and $304,000 at $1.10 on the Raiders to win or not lose by three points or more, which resulted in a $43,400 profit.
Bets of $70,000 and $25,000 at $1.18 were also placed on Canberra to defeat Cronulla.
One TAB punter had a far more stressful second half after placing $71,300 at $1.50 pre-game on the Sharks to win or not lose by 20 points or more.
The TAB customer in question watched with delight as Sione Katoa scored a late try to ensure Cronulla only lost by 12 points, which secured a $35,650 profit.
