Sydney Swans vs Fremantle Dockers Preview
The stakes will be high at Metricon on Sunday with plenty of finals implications on the line.
The Swans are edging their way towards the top four with three straight wins over West Coast, the Dogs and the Giants under their belt, and they’ll also be out for some revenge on the Dockers after losing by only two points when they met in Perth back in May.
Freo, meanwhile, still find themselves among a backlog of teams vying for a spot in the eight.
The Dockers came undone last week against Geelong, but it’s hard to read too much into a game played at The Cattery in front of no fans.
The biggest challenge for Freo this week will be stopping Buddy Franklin, something they failed to do last time out with the superstar forward kicking a six-goal bag.
Buddy has been in red-hot form since then, which is obviously a worrying sign after the Dockers gave up seven combined goals to Tom Hawkins and Patrick Dangerfield last week.
Metricon has been a house of horrors for the Swans over the last two seasons, but their dominance up forward of late should pose some problems for a Fremantle side that has won only three games away from home this year.
