Sydney Thunder vs Melbourne Stars Preview
We’re getting things off and running in BBL12 with the Thunder taking on the Stars at Manuka Oval.
Manuka is one of the smaller grounds in the country so I’m expecting blokes like Marcus Stoinis, Joe Burns, Alex Hales and Jason Sangha should be able to find the boundary with ease.
First innings total 170+ at $1.90 is a market that I’m really liking for the above reasons. Both sides have some huge hitters and I think the short boundaries in Canberra will favour the batsmen.
I’ve backed the Stars head to head mainly because I think they have a better bowling attack. Adam Zampa, Trent Boult, Nathan Coulter-Nile and left arm tearaway Luke Wood should really trouble the Thunder.
Luke Wood is one to watch this season, the left arm quick took 3/24 on debut for England during the world cup and I don’t mind the market for him to take 3+ Wickets at $5.25. Especially early in the season when most sides haven’t faced him yet.
I’ve also got Stoinis to hit a six in my multi purely for rig based selection purposes. He’s a big unit and will go hard at the bowlers early.
